I recently visited the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute to do some research for a report. From the moment you step into the airy rotunda to the moment you leave the multimedia library brimming with countless nuggets of images, words, sounds, and facts; it is clear that the institute is much more than a museum. The Institute is indeed a vault of artifacts laced with a catalyst air that will probe, yield, anger yet educate, hurt but heal, question and answer a kaleidoscope of emotional thoughts all with the hopes of motivating love for all. Indeed, this is a place that impacts and leaves one with the charge..... " How can you be a positive change in the world?" I invite you to explore and simply be open to the experience one can find at the BCRI. In the end, I can assure you, you will leave with a sense that there is a vision for the betterment of human rights worldwide and together we all can contribute to a future that will continue to bloom as we learn, serve and progress. ...

La Jolla Beach California So here I am at the start of a New Year, 2011, and I am declaring it my "Eat,Pray,Love" year! *Chuckling* What I mean by this is, this is a year where I will refocus through, self reflection, observation, education, exploration, meditation and by also emitting even more love. Travel is a must. Oh, yea I'm also going to "photo blog" the heck out of my experiences! So, join me as we discover God's beauty in everything. Here's to living life through purpose, passion and with a positive/great expectations mindset that will yield God's desired result on a journey like no other. Location: On the trolley in Chula Vista, California headed toward San Diego 1.9.11 This is one of my favorite pictures! Here, I kind of played around with the reflection and light. Keep in mind, this was snapped with no flash and on my b-berry. I'm getting there! :)
Serenity
I snapped this photo from roughly 30,000 feet above ground while flying from Minneapolis to Las Vegas. I call it serenity because of the blue color effect caused by the filtered light emitted by the setting sun. This picture, for me, soothes me. I hope it has the same effect on you.
